Am I Required to Get a DOG License for My Akita?
In almost all places, it is required by law that you license your akita. However, the exact rules do vary based on where you live. For instance, many places not only require that you get your akita licensed every year, but they also require that you actually keep the license tag on your akita all the time.

The Bloodhound doesn't need to smell blood to find someone who is lost. It is said that his name instead means blooded hound, or aristocratic. They actually track people because people leave a trail of skin cells with their own unique odor wherever they go.
Also, in some areas the licensing fee can vary based on a number of factors. In some areas, if the akita is permanently marked with a tattoo or a micro-chip, you can obtain a license that is valid for the akita's lifetime, rather than renewing yearly. Other things that can greatly affect the license cost include whether the akita is a service or guide DOG, whether the akita is spayed or neutered and whether the owner's income is below a certain amount. Also, some areas offer a multi-dog discount for owners that have several DOGS.

The Japanese Chin, also known as the Japanese Spaniel, is considered to be one of the most cat-like of the dog breeds when it comes to attitude. It is alert, intelligent, and often independent. Also, like a cat, it uses its paws to wash its face.
The purpose of getting a license for your akita is simple. It helps animal control officers, or other people that may find your akita when it is lost, to return the akita to you. Unlicensed DOGS are much more likely to be put to sleep by animal control. Many owners are now getting their akitas micro-chipped, but licenses are still a requirement for the simple reason that some vets and shelters do not have access to a micro-chip scanner.

The name Pug is believed to have derived from this dog's resemblance to the pug monkey. That also fits the breed in other ways. Pugs tend to be curious and mischievous. They always seem to have a look of mischief and fun on their face, just like a monkey.
Obviously it is impossible for DOG licensing laws to be enforced on every single DOG and owner all the time. As a result, if you decide not to license your akita, it is possible that you may not get caught. However, if your akita is somehow detected by officials as unlicensed, you will be required to pay high fines.

People are always taking their Yorkshire terriers to the groomer. Why? Well, Yorkshire terriers can grow hair up to 2 feet in length! Considering that they are nowhere near two feet tall, this makes regular grooming a must!
So, not only is it legally required for a akita to be licensed in most places, but it's in the owner's and the akitas best interest because it helps to protect the akita from getting permanently lost.

The doberman pinscher breed was created in the 1860's by a man named Louis Doberman. Mr. Doberman was a German tax-collector. He needed a dog to protect him from angry people while he worked. To this day, dobermans are excellent guard dogs.
