Does My Akita Need a DOG Tag?

Any akita that is going to be outside should always wear a DOG tag (ID tag). In fact, even akitas that are primarily indoors should wear a DOG tag incase they somehow find their way outside.

Pharaoh Hounds have an unusual feature. They are the only breed of dogs that "blushes". They do this when they are excited or happy. When they "blush" their ears, nose and eyes will become pink.

A DOG ID tag is not the same thing as a DOG license tag. A DOG license tag often has a code number to identify the akita and information on whether the akita has had its shots. A DOG license tag allows anyone that finds the akita to contact the vet that the license came from, but, if it's after hours or a weekend the vet may be closed.

The silky terrier originated about 100 years ago in Australia. Their major ancestors were the Australian terrier and the Yorkshire terrier. They were bred to be family companions, watchdogs, and to hunt rodents and snakes.

A DOG ID tag, on the other hand, is a personal DOG tag that the owner can put important information on. This information generally includes the akita's name, home address, phone number and occasionally things like allergies that the akita has. This allows the average person on the street to contact the akita's family quickly and easily any day of the week.

The afghan hound ranks as least intelligent breed of dog. They are cute, friendly, loyal and fun, but they usually require 80 to 100 repetitions to learn a single command. Afghan hounds are a bad choice if you are looking for a dog that's easy to train, but they are great if you have patience.

It's also important to remember that a DOG ID tag is only as good as the collar it's attached to. Be sure that your akita's collar is not too tight or too loose and that it is made of a material that you can easily attach the DOG ID tag to. After all, the tag will not do anyone any good if it falls off and gets lost.

The American Kennel Club recognizes more than 150 breeds? Segmented into seven different breed types, all breed possess unique temperaments, physical characteristics as well as a rich background in history.

While it's not usually required that an owner put a personal ID tag on their akita, the benefits of doing so are obvious.

In the original 101 Dalmatians movie, Pongo has 72 spots, Perdita has 68 and each of the puppies has 32. Real dalmations have unique numbers and patterns of spots, almost like a human beigns fingerprint.
