How to Cope with a Missing Akita
Roaming, wandering and missing DOGS can be one of the inevitable side events of DOG ownership. When you�re at the akitagie park, it may be easy for your akita to roam outside of the confines of the area. But how do you handle a roaming, wandering or even worse, a missing DOG?

The basenji, an African wolf dog, is the only breed of dog that cannot bark. Instead of barking, it makes an odd yodel-like noise. Due to this fact, the basenji is also sometimes known as an African barkless dog.
Review these tips on dealing with a missing DOG:

The silky terrier originated about 100 years ago in Australia. Their major ancestors were the Australian terrier and the Yorkshire terrier. They were bred to be family companions, watchdogs, and to hunt rodents and snakes.
1) Whatever you do � do not panic.

While adult dalmations are covered in cute black spots, dalmation puppies are actually born solid white. Their spots don't show up until they are at least a week old. Sometimes not until they are a month old.
2) Remain calm by staying in one place so that your akita can find its way back to you as you call its name.

The oldest pure-bred British dog is said to be the Corgi. Their proof of existence has been traced back to dogs brought to Wales by the Celts from the Black Sea around 1200 BC.
3) Request a friend to help you find your akita so that you can remain in the last place your akita saw you. While you wait for the return of your canine, ask the friend to scour the immediate area

Border collies are excellent at herding. But they don't descriminate between livestock and other things. This makes them great at things like fly-ball, obedience, tracking, fetching, Frisbee toss, and sheep herding. Sometimes they get out of hand though, several border collies have been known to try to herd small groups of children!
4) After two hours assume your akita is lost or stolen.

The boxer breed was so named for his manner of fighting. As opposed to biting, like most dogs would, a boxer will actually begin a fight by "punching" with its front paws, just liek a human boxer.
5) Contact your veterinarian and animal shelters to post a missing DOG report.

Paul McCartney, of Beatles fame, was very fond of his shetland sheepdog. In fact, at the end of the song "A Day in the Life" Mr. McCartney inserted an ultrasonic whistle, audible only to dogs, for his shetland sheepdog.
6) Create a missing DOG pamphlet. Include a photo of your akita, along with your contact information and a nominal reward. Remember to share these photos with your vet and local animal shelters.

Bulldogs have unusually large heads. In fact, due to the way in which they've been bred, bulldogs have trouble delivering young. All bulldog puppies are delivered by caeserean section now. The mothers can't deliver the heads naturally.
7) Be proactive in talking to as many neighbors and other DOG owners of the area to inquire about your DOG.

Pekingese dogs are quite small. This worked out well for their ancient masters, who were ancient Chinese royalty. These royal masters used to carry the peke dogs along in the sleeves of their royal robes.
DOG tip: To protect and identify your DOG, obtain an ID tag. These metal tags come engraved in metal, in plastic and in other materials. There are innumerous types of ID tags that fit on a wide array of DOG collars. To make it hard for thieves to commandeer your DOG, do not include your canine�s name on the ID tag.

German Shepherds have incredibly sensitive noses. They have over 225 million cell receptors in their noses, making them ideal for police work, such as bomb and drug sniffing, finding missing children and tracking criminals.
