How to Find a Good Akita Trainer
Since there is no set list of educational or licensing requirements to be a akita trainer, finding a good one is that much more difficult for you, the akita owner. It is important for you to research the subject thoroughly before choosing a trainer for your akita.

Schipperke is Flemmish for "little captain" and the name is appropriate because most schipperkes seem to act almost human. they are happy, intelligent and usually enjoy being the center of the universe around them.
To begin with, use all of your resources, whether it's friends with well-trained akitas, your akita's veterinarian, akita magazines or the internet. The more sources of information you have, the better off you'll be.

The Giant Schnauzer is known in german as "Riesenschnauzer", meaning "the giant". It should closely resemble the other Schnauzers, miniature and standard. However, they are really completely unique and unrelated breeds. They have just developed in such a way, over time, that they look similar to each other.
Once you've compiled a list of possible akita trainers, the next step is to contact them to set up interviews. If possible, bring your akita to the interviews with you. You want the interview to be a question and answer session, not your akita's first training lesson, but having your akita at the interview can give you a feel for how your akita and trainer will get along together.

The joys of motherhood struck with a vengeance when, in 1984, a great dane became the third dog to join the record holders for largest litter. She had twenty-three puppies. Interestingly, each of the three dogs that hold the record are different breeds.
During the interviews, don't be afraid to ask questions. Ask the potential trainers about their training methods, how they deal with problems such as akita aggression, how long they've been training akitas and anything else that you feel the need to ask. Be sure to pay attention to not only their answers, but also their body language and the tone of their voices. After all, it's just as important that your akita's trainer get along with you as it is that they get along with your akita.

Chow chows were originally bred as food, just like cows. However, in some cases, they were also used as hunters and helpers. They were also used to keep people warm under cold conditions by cuddling up to people with their soft, warm fur.
If possible, try to observe a training session with another akita or ask if you can talk to a previous customer of each potential trainer. What you may expect and what actually takes place during a training session may be two completely different things. This added insight will help you to make an accurate final decision.

There are two famous parson (jack) russell terriers on TV. Eddie is famous for his crazy antics on the hit show, Frazier. Wishbone was the main character who had his own children's show on PBS!
In short, finding a good akita trainer depends on many things. There is no clear right or wrong answer. If you do your research and follow your instincts you should find a great trainer to suit your needs. However, even after you've chosen a trainer, don't be afraid to ask about things that you don't understand, question techniques or ask for a second opinion. You and your akita will be glad that you did.

Bloodhounds have dewlaps. What are dewlaps? They are strange looking, pendulous folds of skin on the back of the neck. They don't seem to serve any useful purpose to the bloodhound, but are rather interesting to look at.
