If you are planning to kennel your akita, consider the akitas personality. If your akita does not get along with other DOGS or cats then the kennel may be a bad choice. You may want to have someone come to your house to watch your akita instead.

What seems normal to you might be unexpected to them.

Many Scottish terriers have an odd medical condition. It is called Scotties Cramp. It is a mild neurological disorder. Scotties under stress or exercising may move erratically, when suffering from this neurological disorder, but seem fine when resting.
Tour each kennel that you are considering. A good kennel should be fairly clean. However, its nearly impossible to keep any kennel completely clean at all times. Also, the staff should be friendly and well informed. A good kennel should offer medical care if your akita gets sick or injured on their watch. They should also require that all animals are up to date on their shots.

A st. bernard became a mother in 1975. While that wasn't unusual by itself, the unusual thing was that she had twenty-three puppies! She now shares this record with two other dogs, one of which originally set it in 1944.
Some kennels have more features than others, so, beyond these simple basics, the choice of which kennel to bring your akita to is mostly a matter of personal preference. The best advice, when choosing a kennel, is to follow your instincts.
